I was initially going to get health insurance in Spain by myself. I usually do everything on my own and I take pride in my resourcefulness. This time, however, I tried a third-party broker as recommended by the Spain Revealed web site. I'm glad I did. Within days, Janys contacted me and provided me with information with several choices. A good selection of options and I was able to compare them with my own research. The best part was the swiftness of the response. I had a phone conversation with Janys Tuesday morning --- I was a little nervous because my appointment for a visa was on Thursday. Within an hour, Janys sent me necessary documents, provided me with necessary help in filling them out, and by the next day, I had the certificate required for applying for a Spanish visa. Janys Jalabert at INOV Expat is wonderful! I contacted him to help get quotes to choose a health insurance company for my private, visa compliant, health insurance. I'm 66 years old and received a few quotes. Mr. Jalabert contacted me soon after. We arranged a phone call. There was a 7 hour time difference, but he was very kind in accommodating me. He is a really nice man and takes time to thoroughly explain even that which you didn't realize you didn't understand. He recommended companies that could meet my timing needs as there would be some delay before my arrival (if my visa is approved). We had to wait a couple of weeks to apply for the insurance. Again, he called as soon as we could apply. He walked me through the application process, mostly helping me understand the visa requirements, costs, coverage and what to expect. Not just the rules and policies, but the practices. I could have done this alone. But, having a helping hand reduced a lot of stress I would have had otherwise. This was the last step in securing all of my visa documents. Success! I was accepted by the insurer with all the visa requirements, in my timetable and at a reasonable cost. Mr. Jalabert assured me he will continue to be there when I need assistance in understanding how to access my healthcare and in other ways he may be able to help in that regard. I moved to Spain recently and imported my car. When I tried to get local car insurance, I hit a brick wall as insurance companies either do not insure the brand of car I drive or cannot deal with temporary number plates. The only company able to offer me car insurance requested that I moved all my policies to them, which is not ideal. I then contacted Inov Expats and requested a quote for car insurance. Johan got back to me promptly with several options at very competitive rates, which I could hardly believe after having seen all my earlier applications rejected. About 10 days after moving to Spain, I broke my leg. I hadn't had my insurance for 6 months yet, so my insurance company was attempting to not cover the hospital bill (even though it was clearly an accident). Isabel (from the claims department) helped me by going back and forth with the insurance company, speaking to managers, instructing me on the appropriate paperwork, etc. I'm not fluent in Spanish yet (especially medical terms) so her help was essential and I am so so grateful! Healthcare in a foreign country can be overwhelming to navigate, so I highly recommend having a broker that has a team of people willing to guide you through the process and help in an emergency. I'm hoping that the remainder of my time in Spain will be less dramatic, though;)read more

My husband and I contacted INOVExpat to obtain health insurance that would be compliant with the Spanish requirements for a long-term visa application. The visa application itself is a paperwork nightmare and we needed help to make sure we got the right coverage without a lot of extra work on our part. We initially communicated with Victor, who asked a few questions and sent us (that same day) some policy options that would meet our needs. We selected one and had questions. We asked for a telephone consultation on a specific date and Victor set us up to speak with Janys on that date. At exactly the appointed time, Janys called us and went over all of our options and recommended one that was actually less costly than the one we had selected. He then explained to us how the medical system in Spain works, how to access the care we might need, what the insurance will pay for and what it would not, and how to submit any claims through INOVExpat. Both Janys and Victor are remarkably personable, helpful and FAST at responding to emails. They are also fluent in English, a huge bonus for us at this stage! We have decided to use INOVExpats for all of our insurance needs once we arrive in Spain. We will also recommend them to anyone who needs relief from all the paperwork that comes with moving to another country.read more
